I totally agree, Jodi -- it's like a really excellent movie poster.  All of the "B" covers for this title are better movie posters than a lot of movie posters we see today!

I saw this the other day and reminded me of CW's alternate covers...

JB, I love the original covers, but the alternates are so good, and
reflect the era so well, I think you should just go with those. Issue
four's cover is a classic. I hope to pick it up sometime today.

Those alternate covers are so good.  The feel of the Soviet era posters is captured.  Love to see IDW make posters out of them.  Is that even done any longer?  Last one I had was the Batman-Captain American poster.

Great series JB.  Thanks for the fun.

Great ending to the Damocles Contract. Finally got a chance to read it  this evening. Loved the pacing throughout this issue. The moment for me was the fifth panel on the last page.

Really looking forward to The Seven Cardinal Contract.

It looks to me like all the text was left off page 12. (There's a lot of open space at the tops of the panels, which suggests room left for word balloons, but none are present.) If so, this would be the second issue in a row where that's happened.

You are correct. Seems it is time for some heads to roll.

Excellent finish!  The art is on fire -- a perfect mix of subtle character moments and bursts of action.

The title page is just beautiful.  That the kind of establishing shot of the base is something JB has always done better than most - you really create a sense of place like no other artist, JB.

The coloring works really well.  It doesn't call attention to itself, so when an explosion happens, it has real impact.  Although I confess I think this would be perfect for a B&W newsprint phonebook edition.

Hopefully, these errors will be corrected in the TPB.

And then there are the COLD WAR hardcovers (collecting eight issues) that are on my internal wish list...

Michael A:  "The moment for me was the fifth panel on the last page"

****

That's the kind of moment I really dig in JB's work - Swann has been through so much by that point.

I find myself drawn to those kind of moments in good comic books.  Individual panels that are seemingly quiet yet speak volumes.  And that last page speaks to something we've been seeing in this series and also in NEXT MEN - one of JB's strong suits is a talent for writing excellent final pages, whether they be they cliffhangers or resolutions.

What a read JB!  I had a stack of comics to read last night, and after reading this issue, I changed course and re-read this entire series.  You're disrupting my reading schedule, JB!
