I got this response from my friend Ben Cooper (who I have been collecting and discussing comics with for about 30 years now) after pointing him to this thread -

"Ha!. Yeah. I used to get a thrill as a kid going to the store and seeing my name all over these costumes. They used to make a bunch of different toys, too. Each with my my name molded right onto it."

You're right. They should have Spider-Man in there instead of Cap...

nothing says "action figures" like poorly painted rubber dudes with elastic stapled to their backs.

I love that Red Skull was part of their merchandise. That crazy Ratzi doesn't get enough merch royalties.

It's also great that someone at Marvel convinced Ben Cooper that the Dr. Strange movie was going to make the character HUGE!!!!!

HUGE I TELLS YA!!!! All the kids will be talking about him...

My 4 year old is well versed in all things Red Skull related.

He likes my Red Skull bobble head. I like to shake it's head to make him answer questions like
"Red Skull, do you want to invade Poland?"

"Ja Ja Ja Ja Ja Ja!!!"

Cute lil Razi.  Characters like the Red Skull are awesome for lil kids, as they lead to vast array of obviously named heroes & villians: The Blue Pants. The Yellow Shirt. The White Sock.

My dream is that one day, the good Baron Zemo will be made into a cute stuffed toy. When you squeeze him, he'd say "Mein Gott!!!" Sigh... I can dream.
