…Red Hulk would be something really nice and fresh to be seen.

This (to me) underlines that fans see comics (and commissions) from a completely different perspective as how the pros do.

I wonder if some look at these commissions in B&W but in SEE them in color.

It wasn't a commission, tho it did find its way into the commissions gallery.

Personally I appreciate the idea that JB doesn't do commissions that include characters that are...crappy.
I dislike Cable, Sentry and Red Hulk because they've never felt like comicbook characters that live in Stan Lee's MARVEL(!) and that includes Venom and Deadpool (who have appeared in JB commissions).
At least here, Deadpool is getting kicked in the head. I appreciate that.

John Byrne can say what he wants about ALPHA FLIGHT and how he's weirded-out feeling that they are considered a legitimate part of Marvel, but at least they feel 'right' beside the FF and Avengers.

Back on topic, I love the FIGURES in this piece, excellent anatomy!
The webs are very Ditko to me, and I always love Iron Fist.
I love the inclusion of ROG plus the debut of his pooch!
(ROVer-2000 ?)

I've heard people suggest that Todd McFarlane took the basic look of Nemesis and turned it into Spawn. Like Spawn, I think Deadpool is a mix of different characters that the creator found cool.

With Spawn, it's a Spider-Man-like mask wearing a Batman-like cape, with Ghost Rider's chains and a bit of his origin mixed with Deathlok's origin and the story of Faust.

With Deadpool you have Wolverine's healing power, mixed with The Punisher's use of guns, the popular ninja weapons taken from The Hand, and Spider-Man's mask and smart-ass-ness.

ROVer-2000 ?

••

Hm. I might suggest DOG-2000, but that would further confuse the issue among those who pronounce our mascot's name with a hard "G".

I think some of you who are surprised by the appearance of Deadpool in this piece are overlooking a couple of things.

One, this is not a drawing OF Deadpool. It's a drawing of Spider-Man, and Iron First AND Deadpool.

Second, it's not Cable, and Shatterstar AND Deadpool.

So I still have my standards!

Very cool. It's fun to click on a commission link and see an unexpected
character. This would make a nice opening splash page to a Marvel
Team-Up.

---And Deadpool is getting his butt whooped by the better characters, so it's all good!

STANDARDS! Thank you. That's the word I was looking for when forming my post.

I've said before that your artwork makes comic characters official or 'real' and gives them validity, so I'm definitely not being negative that you've brought them to life.
Quite the opposite, like, "Aw man, now they count!"
