Nice work guys.

Agreed! Always a pleasure viewing this thread.

I think he's better than Allred. I'm seeing some strong Kirby in there.

I'm putting together some new pages using the script to Uncanny Avengers #1; Thor, Havok, and Captain America taking on Avalanche. Work in progress.

Hi Ronald,

Really like your work. Are you self taught? or did you go to art school? I am trying to teach myself now and I have tons of books but I am finding it pretty difficult. Any advice?

Thanks very much!

I've ben drawing since I was very young; my mother still has drawings I did when I was 2 or 3 years old!

I also went to FIT in NY for a few years; not for a degree, just to hone my skills - I took life drawing, comic book art, cartooning, and classes like that.

And I am constantly studying JBs work (old and new - I love it all) among others, because you just can't go wrong when you study the Masters of the Craft.

:)

Ronald,

That is some good stuff. I can see the JB influence yet your work is still very original. Look forward to seeing the rest. Do you ink as well?

And thank you, too! :)

JB and Alan Davis are, by far, my two favorites. I'm also a huge fan of George Perez, the Romitas, Buscemas, Carlos Pacheco, and Joe Madureira. I tend to favor the guys with very clean lines.

I sometimes ink my own stuff. I think I need a lot more work on inking, but it can take a back seat for now. This was the last piece I penciled and inked.

I definitely think I "lost" something in the transition.
