Carmen,

Right on. Thanks for the feedback. And you are right, I do need more practice on body structure and mannikinizing(?) the figure before I go to the detailed level.

I laugh every time I look at the ears of the face dead center. While I wanted a guy with ears that stuck out, those ears are rotated a full 90 degrees ....;-)

Thanks for all the kind words on my Wonder Woman! I initially thought an Amazon should look tough, but I forgot that she was supposed to be endowed with the beauty (I think) of Aphrodite! Plus, I think I subconsciously made her look like Gina Carano, who I was hoping would be picked to play the big screen WW, before they went with Gal Gadot. But since so many people here (and on Facebook) hated the "tough look," I have revised her to look more feminine and (hopefully) prettier. After all, EVERYBODY can't be wrong! Thanks for the input, people!

There's  Wonder WomanI   I like the changes.  Are you going to ink this drawing with Pitt brush pens?  I purchased them recently after reading how John Byrne utilizes them in his art work commissions.  I really like how the Pitt pens get that thick-thin line quality. For years I've practiced feathering my lines like John Romita has in his work on Spider-Man. I have my own way of cartooning and you can see them on the art pages on this site.  However,  I digress, I really like the Pitt brush pens and hope you ink a version of this Wonder Woman for this site.  If you could computer color the illustration or with traditional techniques ....I'd like to what it would look like.

To Robert Shepherd:

Are these your own characters?  Or they from a John Byrne set of characters?  Perhaps from Todd McFarlane's run on the Hulk? They look like Hulk Busters.  I haven't been reading any comics since the mid-80's so I'm more than likely, way off the mark.  However they do have that Marvel/ Image influence with the cartoony, yet character driven books of that era.  Looking at the portraits, I have to say I'd like to know more about them.

To Robert Lloyd

Technically these are original characters, but I wouldn't doubt past influences getting through.

Maybe you can see a JB influence. He is certainly one of my favorites artists and I've wanted to draw like him forever. But alas, I can never get it right...;-) I wish I was good enough that you could see a strong JB influence. So while I'm not trying to draw like him, if I get stumped I do tend to reference his work more than any other artist, and that has to come through.

Do they look like Hulk Busters? If they do, it's purely coincidence. But now that you mention it, the uniforms are similar, aren't they?

These characters start off in Earth's first interstellar starship, and while I wanted a simple uniform, after I drew these - well they remind me of Star Trek (if they were in color). Plenty of time to change that.

I did decide to go with the flow a bit - for example the Captain (frames 1 and 9) looks a bit simian (old Planet of the Apes) and a bit Lon Chaney Jr. (the Wolfman). Wasn't part of the plan, but then I liked it, and instantly came up with some plot ideas for him.

The crew's Doctor (panel 7) reminds me of a square-jawed Angelina Jolie. I'll have to rework that one. Earlier versions looked more mixed ethnic which I like.

Thanks for expressing interest in knowing more about them. That's a wonderful comment so thank you for the confidence booster....;-)

@ Robert:

I see a bit of Jim Starlin or Ron Lim in there, myself. They basically had that linework style in them.

Before I go, some recent sketches I made...

I'm not sure have I shown my art here before, but here it is. It's a unfinished
(now it is finished) page from a four pager.
