A Klingon ship, and the British Interplanetary Society's 1950s design for a lunar spaceship. Both modeled in Truespace and rendered in Bryce.

Aside from feeling like how the Rickenbacker bass got a little smaller than I intended, and her head a bit "tilted", I think this sketch came out pretty fine.

Paul,
When you create space ships in Bryce do you make up the designs as you build it in the computer or is it based on a template already built into the program? Long story short, do you have to manually put in all those details or are they already part of a sketch that you are working from?

Robert, I use Truespace to built the models but, yeah, I make all the little details manually. There are some shortcuts, for example you can make a single element and then copy-and-paste it elsewhere in the model. And you can use images as texture maps (but because the images are two-dimensional, so you have to be choosy where you use them).

An attempt at costume design influenced somewhat by old Chinese costumes. Random stuff.

Warmup sketch using my new drawing program Mischief. Bubble added in Photoshop. I've never used anything digital where the pencil and pen tools felt more like, and produced results like a real pencil and brush. I do believe I'm in love...http://www.thefoundry.co.uk/You guys should give it a whack! There's a free version to see if it will work on your machine. I won't spoil the (pleasant!) surprise of seeing the price for the full version. :)
