@ Robert:
I didn't actually intend for it to come out like that. I drew it entirely from memory. (I used photo references, like, once.)

Just a little cartoon humor...

I really liked how this came out. Simonson's Thor is probably the best rendition of the character to date.

On Sebastien Roy's Avengers:
That's a great poster, only where's the Hulk? Is this from the period where he leaves the Avengers? I like the style they are drawn in. I love the colors and they all have personality.
Too many of the Marvel artists today don't have a distinctive cartoon style that defines the artist. You knew a John Buscema , Jack Kirby, Sal Buscema, Gil Kane when you saw the style of art right away. Now all the art looks the same. It's all photo realistic with no room for cartoon style or imagination.

I think one of the other problems is that they never really draw the characters on model. Even with the stylistic variations, you knew it was Wolverine, no matter whether it was John Byrne drawing him, or Dave Cockrum, Walt Simonson, John Romita Jr., and so on. Once the Image boys started showing up, things started going off-model.
Don't even get me started about Rob Liefeld or Humberto Ramos. They were a taste I never really acquired.
Since this is "sketch book"... one more:

Is that Leonard Nimoy? Well done, sir.
From my latest sketch batch:

I ought to do my own Nimoy memorial pic, though...

A match-up I should've seen during my boyhood. I guess it would end up being a draw...
