I don't know if any of you saw the absolute trainwreck that is Trump's nomination for Education Secretary and her confirmation hearing, but a more uninformed person could not have been chosen. I mean, absolute imbicile. Here was Trump's response: "We have by far the highest I.Q. of any cabinet ever assembled... We have Betsy Devos... She did terrific. Very easy subject. It's called education. Very, very easy."

If they passed over qualified candidates in order to nominate or hire a crony of Trump or as reward for political/monetary favors, then the noninclusion of those candidates is unconscionable. Given the number of highly qualified/talented folks (of all backgrounds) in Washington and beyond as well as Trump's pattern of doing that sort of thing, I'm betting the chances of this occurring are pretty good.

Trump scraped the bottom of the barrel for his cabinet picks. This is a very
interesting article comparing Obama's picks and Trumps. The most educated
is Ben Carson on Trump's side, Obama had two physicists running the Energy
Department (one was a Nobel prize winner). Its really scary some of Trump's
picks, they are either ill informed like Perry or want to get rid of the
department they are nominated to run.

A mother of a child my oldest goes to school with posted this on Facebook earlier:
"I'll just leave this here for you to ponder why some people are upset today. During the inauguration my middle school child witnessed a group of boys playing soccer segregating a group of Hispanic boys while playing soccer. They literally built a human wall and yelled Go Trump at these boys."
This is just the first day guys.

As dour as the election and inauguration made me, today's women's marches across the country (& the world) make me very happy & proud to see, especially as a father to two young girls.
(Of course, Fox News is barely--barely!--acknowledging that these protests even exist today...)
