I'm no sciencematician, but some of the Torch's power displays seem very dubious. Very dubious indeed!

Thom, in fairness some of the more, er, inventive uses of the Torch's flame abilities in the Silver-Age were due to Stan and Jack having tom work around the Comics Code Authority's rules. Some things made more sense and were cooler than others, admittedly.

A good writer can make Namor a readable and enjoyable series. — Our host certainly did that!
Yes, I think so. Was that during JB's run? - Here ya go Wallace. From FF #250. — Thanks, Marc. I knew it was JB who drew the scene. I was making a poor attempt at being coy.

The only thing I didn't like about JB's Human Torch/Johnny Storm was the Johnny/Alicia relationship. Things became a bit soap operish for me because Johnny & Ben were like brothers and the relationship that developed between Johnny & Alicia should never have happened. Johnny loves Ben, he would never give into temptation and steal Ben's girl, not in a million years!! Spin in it as you must, but this was the one negative thing Byrne did that upset me big time! Friends/Family do NOT do these things to one another unless they are on an episode of Dynasty!
The later revelation that Alicia turned out to be a Skrull didn't make things right for me because Johnny was still NOT off of the hook, he thought the skrull Alicia was the REAL Alicia when he wooed her from Ben.

Personally, I loved it. I hate that we never got to see where JB would have taken their relationship.

Could not disagree more! Alicia stopped being a Thing accessory, Johnny matured, and Ben was freed to find a relationship that didn't (at least in his mind) revolve around him being the Thing. If you want an in-story justification for it, remember that Ben chose to stay on the Beyonder's planet. He left Alicia and all indications were that he was going to end the relationship upon his return.
I have to agree with Marc here. I loved it!

The only thing I didn't like about JB's Human Torch/Johnny Storm was the Johnny/Alicia relationship. — That's the only thing about JB's work on the FF that I didn't like. (Ben is my favorite member of the team, doggone it!) The development was well- executed though, and I can understand why it worked for readers who enjoyed it.

I think all of us can agree, though, that the way Tom DeFalco chose to wrap up that particular plotline was the worst. Ever.
