I like Crusher Creel as a villain, but he can vacillate between being a serious threat and someone who makes a serious error in judgement and beats himself (he's just not the brightest guy).
He can hold his own against the Avengers or Thor, and then agains in the last appearance I read for him, he was easily outsmarted by Hank Pym/Giant-Man.
His track record has turned him into a popular punching bag, but his powers should make him pretty formidible, just not an A-List villain.
One other thing - I like how JB always makes Iron Man look like a guy in armor rather that a guy in an skin-tight outfit like other artists of that version did. His armor still looks sleek, but it has some substance to it.
