Quick side-note: Harry, you did a GREAT job with Sasquatch's face on your costume!

+++++

Andrew, thank you! Means a lot! He is my absolute favorite of JB's creations and I would only have attempted it if I was certain I could do him justice.

Again, at the risk of stirring up a Big Bad Byrne story, Harry did a super job on his construction, but it’s not my version of Sasquatch.

Agreed, JB, to all of the above.
Thanks to everyone who posted counter-examples to my post--much appreciated! Gotta say, I love what Craig did.
And I never knew that about Mark G suggesting the design element for the twins--that's really cool!

JB,
"Again, at the risk of stirring up a Big Bad Byrne story, Harry did a super job on his construction, but it’s not my version of Sasquatch."

Just whose version of Sasquatch is it that came to print throughout AF if not yours and why????

Later artists changed my original design once I left the book.

Why? I do not know.

Happily, the Bowen bust and Eaglemoss figure both captured my intended look.

Anyway, compare my original model sheet (second post in this thread) to your version.

Maybe this should be a separate thread, but - JB, any idea on why Kirby's Hulk looked so different over time? Here's examples that I happened on today that prompted the question:

All artists tend to change the look of their characters over time. Kirby was no exception. In fact it was well known that he didn’t use reference when he drew characters he’d drawn before. Went strictly from memory.

A somewhat famous example of this effect is the way George changed the look of Raven. Over time, it became so pronounced TEEN TITANS actually presented a story to explain it!

JB,

I used those 2 specifically for this build actually but, took reference from the books too as best as I could.
When you said not your original version, I thought you were referring to your run of AF. That Sasquatch went from your original model sheet to a somewhat leaner creature as depicted in the battle w/Super Skrull or in issue 23 etc..

JB,
Now I understand what you mean... Not talking about my costume, talking about the Sasquatch that you have drawn over the years. It seems to me that he went from a hulking top heavy behemoth to a somewhat leaner, more perfectly proportioned and chiseled physique as opposed to a monstrous, hulking mass or am I wrong?
