I expect we'll soon get to enjoy discourse about the Democrat Party's ingratitude, partisanship and rank hypocrisy for not embracing Musk in response to this performative turn on Trump.

One of my remaining Republican friends is a never-never-Trumper and party activist whose current project is trying to convince credulous voters that electing moderate Republicans will lead to a moderate national GOP, even though all they'll really do is vote with MAGA.

He promises to get around to criticizing the Trump Administration after Democrats confront the real issue facing their party and America: the failure of Obama's circa 2012 Syria policy.

I looked this up. I don’t think there’s any way that Obama‘s Syria policy “failure” is even in the zeitgeist of people’s minds today. If he’s saying that it contributed to the overall “problem” of refugees, maybe. But I think that’s a very thin line to draw between then and now.
