Technicality, Rod! It's summer there. :)
Maybe you can go for a picnic at Hanging Rock.

Well, after snow all day yesterday then and layer of freezing rain on top of that, I woke up this morning to 40 degrees and moderate rainfall. Practically all it did yesterday is gone. Now the big worry is what will happen to all this water when temps get down into the teens tonight.

On the matter of generators, all the models I checked out online showed them nestled against the side of the house, like air conditioners. But when I called, I was told the unit had to be a minimum of ten feet from the house. :-p

We have a generator but I confess to having no idea whatsoever as to how to tie it in to the house to provide power.

My wife and I shoveled the driveway for the first time today. I'd say there's about 5 to 6 inches of so far in the Trumbull CT area.

Been snowing in Central Ohio for about 14 hours straight and no end in sight. We're about a foot deep and it's not supposed to warm up noticeably for at least another 9 or 10 days.

Here in Toronto, we got something like 12 inches just under two weeks ago and had a rare school-cancelling snow day. I'm not positive but I wouldn't be surprised if we've already gotten 12 more inches today with more on the way into the evening, though I think it's likely schools will be open tomorrow.

…a rare school-cancelling snow day…••• I’ve often joked that if we’d had snow days when I was growing up in Canada, I would right about now be finishing eighth grade.

I somehow went through the entire run of the NYC school system without a single snow day. Then the Blizzard of '96 happened, with their first closure in decades, and I felt shortchanged!

According to the weather app, we’re done with snow for a while. Final tally after 24 hours start to finish was just over 15”, east of Cincinnati. Last year, our first outside of California, the biggest snowstorm dropped 8”+ in a day, and everyone said it never snows this much here! I’m not enjoying the escalation.

Much of Texas is currently shut down and will remain so until Wednesday when it will hopefully get above freezing.
