I found myself, just now, wandering through several threads on Google that purportedly presented the “most hated” superheroes.

In each case, the real culprit was BAD WRITING. And, let’s face it, the characters have no control over how they are written. They don’t have control over ANYTHING.

If a character is badly written, take a moment to pity him/her.

I despair at what certain writers have done to some characters. I won't mention names, but there are writers who seem incapable of leaving their own world view behind, and they drag the characters down to their level.

I always liked BOBA FETT, probably because of his design--his visual.  I was absolutely shocked and surprised when, many years after his debut, I had a whole new set of friends--many of whom hated Boba Fett!  They made fun of him!  "Went out like a punk!"

Then THE MANDALORIAN show came around and blew people away!  And, of course, I was thinking--this is just Boba Fett again!  And he's cool.  Which was fine with me.

Another surprise for me was how Adrian Chase/the "new" (for 40 years now!) VIGILANTE was being treated in the PEACEMAKER show, and even ARROW before that.  Why the hate (or making fun of) for one of Marv Wolfman & George Perez's best creations/designs?  I mean, seriously, that is a great design!

Well, I skipped the late 80's at DC (and quite a few years after that) and I only fairly recently learned the character's ultimate (horrible and, actually, lame) fate in the comics.

Really not sure why some characters with potentially high potential just get thrown away sometimes, while other times a certain writer or editor decides to champion a personal favorite that I or others might think are lousy.  (Long list to come, if needed.)

DC, especially, seems to waste so many of its potential stars (many of which it bought from other companies), while Marvel goes the other way and often elevates its losers.  But maybe that's just my perception.
