Excellent detective work Brian.
I drive by there multiple times a week and do often think about it being the
birthplace of JB. Perhaps it deserves a blue plaque, which we use to
commemorate important locations in the UK.

What’s its present function?

262 High Street, West Bromwich, where I first lived, upstairs, is no longer a chemists!

I wonder if they would consider a plaque in Walsall, now I'm a best selling author! ;-)

Be a bit ironic, I suppose, having spent my whole life explaining that I'm not really "from" Walsall in a conventional sense.

It is now called CareTech, and assisted living facility.

Correction: It is an residential building next to CareTech.  Not affiliated with it.  Just a single private dwelling.

I know you jest, but there are a few of us local to that building on the forum.
We’d come to the moving in party!
You might struggle getting your triceratops there though.

How to get a blue plaque:
• Check the scheme status: Visit the National Blue Plaque Scheme via
Historic England.
• Submit a nomination: Nominations are accepted online during designated
submission windows by signing into a Historic England account.
• Key requirements: You must explain the person's significance, provide a
surviving address with a provable link outside Greater London, and show
how they meet the national criteria.

Hmmm

Well, it’s a no go.
Have to have been dead for at least 20 years apparently, although in my
head, I’m sure I’ve seen plaques of the living. Might be a Mandela effect
there though.
Also, the place has to have had a strong link to the individual.
Not sure this would qualify.

The Waterfront may be the closest we can get.

Just did a quick check on a local one i know of James
because i was sure of a recent one. Kelly Groucutt former
bass player/singer with ELO died in 2009 and had a blue
plaque put in place on his former home in Coseley in 2015.
So it depends if it's outside London. But yes, you have to
be dead.

I think the house in West Brom would also stand a better
chance than the birthplace. Come the actual time of course.
Which I hope is significantly more than 20 years away.
