Hi JB,
You have worked on nearly all the Kirby/Stan lee created characters
apart from the Black Panther and Thor, were you ever temped for a run at these characters?

I’ve never really thought of my art as BIG enough for a regular assignment to Thor.

The Panther, while I liked the character, didn’t call to me.

That’s a really interesting observation re Thor.
Asgard demands large scale architecture, Asgardians demand BIG body
people.
While you can and do draw people of all body shapes and sizes, your bodies
do tend to be on the slimmer, realistic side of things.
I do think you would do Asgard justice though.
And the cosmic tales you could tell with that character ….

I thank you, sir, for doing SO MUCH that I enjoyed through the years, tackling SO MANY of my favorite characters!  But, yeah, a solo run on THOR is the "skipped" opportunity that I miss the most.  (And a longer run on Batman too, and the Creeper--all of Ditko's DC creations actually, Captain Marvel/Shazam, and more Captain America, and...)

In my fantasy, I'm reading a limited series by JB featuring the original Journey into Mystery #83 version of Thor. That he could've done a great job with...!

In my head, I just see the FOURTH WORLD material as way 'bigger' than THOR/Asgard, so the idea that JB doesn't think his stuff is 'big' enough for THOR when he drew (for me) the definitive FOURTH WORLD material (multiple times, across multiple titles!) kind of breaks my brain a little.
