Man, I am trying to stay calm here.
The three commissions we saw DONE IN THE SAME WEEK (!!!!) are obviously
among the top five non-Kirby FF images EVER!!!
They could have been covers of comic books. To. Captivate. Millions.
WAY TO GO, ^^*****!!!
sigh

So, THIS is what Dave Sim meant when he said he believed in open
copyright and if someone could do the product better than the parent
company, it meant the company was in DEEP sh*t...

I can understand now why John posted earlier he would work on the FF if things were different with the company. It's pretty obvious he enjoyed doing those pieces, which are terrific beyond words, and I would really like to see the FF returned to their days of glory. Only JB can accomplish this.

I miss the real FF. It's nice to know they still exist out there - somewhere.

AWESOME! I love these commission pieces. They just seem like so much fun. The oversized nature of them truly makes me envious of the owners and how damn cool they must look up on the wall. Sweetness.

JB: working at such large sizes (20x30, 30x40) seems like it would awfully tough to do, as far as keeping things in proportion and in perspective visually across such a large area. Do you do any kinds of layouts/thumbs/prep work when doing large illos like these to prevent/minimize technical errors?

So inspiring! Congratulations!
John, have you any tattoos published walking around out there? (I know you hate 'em)

Thanos: "...It's pretty obvious he enjoyed doing those pieces..."
I'm sure he did, but I can't tell from the art - as we've discovered elsewhere, great art doesn't always mean he's having a great time with it.
But it is very nice. Maybe it's time to seize the opportunity and get a commission done?

You know what would be neat?... If Marvel (assuming a new EIC) asked JB to take his old FF run and redraw it (and tweak the script) in his more modern art and wnriting style, but set it in modern-day FF continuity. Then we'd get splash pages like the above.
What would be better, of course, would be new FF by JB.

These are really lovely John and they really reflect the advances in
your art since my nostalgia-riddled memories of the period you were
producing the FF.
The composition in these pieces are great but it's the confidence in
the perspective, in particular the human form in that perspective that
stands out.
[edited to add: that I'm really thinking about the piece here with Terrax in it]
