<<Do you read Planet Hulk?>>
***********************************
Read the first chapter. Liked it a whole lot. I have chapter two in my
briefcase, waiting to be read.

I say we ignore the OYL thing and leave Tim at least at 16.
And Glenn, about Jason, seems he's running around in a Nightwing suit OYL (so is Dick).

I... see. Is it clear that it's Jason in the suit?
I haven't read an issue of NIGHTWING since Chuck Dixon left, and I'm not
about to start up again now that the guy who nearly got the Hulk
cancelled is the new writer.

Money's prevented me from picking up my OYL books yet, but from what I've come to understand, {inviso-text, activate} it's apparently Dick in the suit in Nightwing and Jason in Outsiders.

I think you have it mixed up - (SPOILERS) Long-hair Nightwing in NIGHTWING and OUTSIDERS is Dick Grayson (Bruce Jones dialogue example: "Gasp...you're....a meta!"), and short-haired Nightwing in NIGHTWING is the dezombied Jason Todd (END SPOILERS).

Nightwing 118 spoilers
The issue more or less revolves around the two Nightwings. One has long hair, a utility belt around his waist and thigh, and the other has the classic Nightwing look we all know, short hair and streamlined bodysuit.
As the issue unfolds, we see the differences between the two Nightwings. As I understood it, the one that appears in the beginning of the issue (which we now know to be Jason Todd) foils a kidnapping, and comes off looking pretty cool and kick ass, until he breaks out the knife and carves up the kidnappers.
The other Nightwing is the one that appears toward the end of the comic. This is the one that gets dropped off a building by one of the villains and gets saved by Jason as Nightwing.
The kicker is we don't actually know it is Jason as Nightwing 2, though we of course suspect, but the next issue blurb says: “While Dick Grayson and Jason Todd battle over the identity of Nightwing,”
Dick also comes off poorly, sleeping around, in the beginning of the ish and not even knowing the lady's name. rumors of him proposing to Barbara appear unfounded.

Why not? There is no way to keep secrets in the age of WIZARD.

Given that the character's name is Lucas Bishop.... ;-)
************************************************************ ******
Still lacks a hook. Something that will make the character and his abilities stick in my head. A name, even one that is non-descriptive does that for me. I've never read much Inhumans but I know the powers of Black Bolt, Gorgon, Karnak and Crystal. I read X-Men for close to twenty years and Bishop tends to draw a blank when it comes to powers. I sometimes wonder it the design and the name came first and then they came up with the powers.

JB
Thanks for the clarification regarding Puck, Northstar, and Aurora.
Since Puck referred to a hockey Puck, and the name does relate to Puck's dexterity,
am I correct to remember that dexterity and fighting ability was the
extent of Puck's powers as you saw them? Checking on his
"origin" it says Puck has super strength and is near invulnerable.
Didn't you have Marina
almost kill him in the first issue? I thought (again, I could
be wrong), but the whole point of him being a super hero is that he
overcame his disability, and then some . . .
JB, what are your thoughts on Kitty's name, as well as Guardian/Vindicator's?

I'm guilty of number two, plus my wife says I'm too old for superheroes. But dammit! I can't stop loving them!

dexterity and fighting ability was the extent of Puck's powers**** Puck doesn't have powers. He's just good at what he's good at. +++ what are your thoughts on Kitty's name, as well as Guardian/Vindicator's? **** As you may know, my name for Kitty was "Sprite", which I thought was a perfect fit.. Chris didn't like it, and danced around with it as soon as I left, eventually settling on "Shadowcat", which doubtless came from him reading Heinlein's "The Cat Who Walked Through Walls" and which, of course, tells us absolutely nothing about the character. Guardian's name, of course, comes from the Canadian National Anthem -- "we stand on guard for thee" -- and was always my first choice for the character. Chris named him "Vindicator", which is a cool airplane, but tells us nothing about the character. What does Canada have to "vindicate"? Having too much snow?
