NB that Rich Johnston hasn't done a column at Silver Bullet Comic Books for a couple of years. These days he's at Comic Book Resources - where I don't read him much any more: the element of self-promotion in what he does has grown and become more obnoxiously untruthful.

Of course, the disclaimer on the Silver Bullet site is a whole page with a large graphic of a bull defecating and you have to click through again before you can read the rumor.

For a rumor site, it's pretty responsible.  More so than many sites claiming to present news.  But, if you don't like any rumor site, you won't like it either.  Pragmatically, they won't be going away anytime soon.

Personally, I prefer the Comic Book Urban Legends site:  http://goodcomics.comicbookresources.com/category/comic-book -urban-legends-revealed/

By the way, the first time I heard anything relating to this was on this board http://www.byrnerobotics.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=13250 &PN=1&TPN=3 in Joe Mayer's post.

I thought his comment was unusually specific.

Now, I assume that Joe got it from Silver Bullet.  But since I read about it here first, when I read the Silver Bullet rumor, I thought that it was something that had been talked about on this board and gave it more credence.

Well, I'm going to chime in here and focus just on The Atom piece of this
rumour and whether JB is on that title past issue 6 or not.
Nowhere in the books' publicity has anyone indicated JB would not be
remaining as the Atom artist beyond the first six issues. But a couple
members of these boards recently posted on the Atom threads comments
along the lines of "it's too bad you're only on for a few issues". When I
asked where they had heard this, they referred me to an earlier JB post
about his being brought on to essentially get the series started. And I
know JB recently posted something stating he would be focusing on
commission pieces for a while and there would not be a monthly Byrne
fix.
Now, maybe I'm naive or just too optimistic, but until JB posts "I'm done
with The Atom as of issue whatever" I've simply been holding out hope
that he will not be leaving The Atom and perhaps we will get that one
monthly fix. I love his work and his drawing that title is one of the
reasons I'm willing to commit to adding this new series to purchases.
JB - Twice I've posted questions about your future on the Atom and you
haven't answered. And in your response above you did not directly
address The Atom rumour. Can you please clarify if that assignment
wraps up within the next few issues or if you might be remaining on
board the title?

John will address, confirm, or deny issues as is most appropriate.

If he has not addressed a question that has been asked multiple times, there is a valid reason for that, whatever that reason may be.

If and when an announcement either way needs to be made, you can be certain John will make it.  He has never been shy about announcing anything when the time is right.

That being said...move along, nothing more to see here, folks.
