If this were a vote (which it doesn't seem to be) I'd vote for Dr. Strange, but to be honest I'm sure I'd buy any of them. My ideal Dr. Strange series would have a lot of guest stars though, taken from Marvel's magical heroes (the more obscure the better) and from Marvel's Ditko heroes (that's right, I want to see Dr. Strange summon the ghost of Monkey Joe to help fight Dormammu, I'm nuts).
I don't really know enough about the Guardians of the Galaxy. Are they basically a more "realistic" and adult (in the sense of not being teenagers, not in the other sense) take on the Legion of Super-Heroes concept? Or are they something else entirely?

No love for the Exiles idea?? ********************
I think Exiles would be a great idea for JB. I thought Claremont would be good for the title but he's only interested in making it a full-fledged X-Men title now. At least JB would dip his toes into more diverse character choices.

If JB took on a "second-tier" title, the sales expectations wouldn't be the same as they would be if he was working on, say, an X-Men or Superman book. If he was working on The Defenders, Ka-Zar, Invaders, etc., then Marvel probably would have far more reasonable goals. And I think there are enough core "John Byrne fans/readers who like traditionally-told stories" to generate healthy, profitable sales on a "second-tier" title. |

I see your logic, but I think that the sales figures and the ultimate fates of the Doom Patrol and Blood of the Demon titles sort of proves my point -- both were "second-tier" titles that ultimately tanked after failing to attract broader readership (primarily due to the currently kewl anti-Byrne fan-boy mentality among "readers" and retailers).

Plus, I suspect JB would have considerable more creative freedom on these types of titles. He could do what he wanted, without worrying about fitting in to the latest big event or coordinating with an upcoming movie release. |

THIS part I wholeheartedly agree with -- I still maintain that flood of minis or a "Marvel Team-Up"-type title with a rotating cast (or team title with a "flexible" roster like Defenders) would be the best way for a publisher to utilize JB at this point in time.

I keep saying JB should be on BRAVE AND THE BOLD once Perez inevitably gets bored with it. Perfect title for JB.

I'd gotta go with the Invaders all the way on this one. It would be great to see JB back on Cap and Namor (with the Torch thrown into the mix).

I would buy all of those titles. But allow me to be selfish and demand JB's immediate return to the Fantastic Four!

Smart idea. JB's (first) run on action gives me an idea of what he might do with B&tB. It would be fun seeing JB drawing different characters every month.
Chad, when you've brought the idea up to JB, what has he said? Would he be interested in that title? JB, you can answer that one too if you wish :)

I'd like to see B&B happen when Waid gets tired of it too. If JB was doing Brave and Bold, I would want him to write it too.

I did a tally for the heck of it. If there was a positive mention specifically, I counted it.
My rough count:
Doc Strange...39
The Invaders...38
Guardians...31
Nick Fury...28
Black Panther...22
Black Fox...14
(dark horse) Defenders...12
Ka-Zar...8
BRAVE AND THE BOLD...3
