"I'd honestly pay money to see him
on anything at Marvel. Out of the entire comic-book community, I think
he's the most effortlessly natural Marvel creator. He's good on DC
characters, but GREAT in the playground of Stan and Jack. I'd really
love to see [him] write and draw any of the icons like Cap, Iron Man, Hulk,
etc."

Agreed!

Very encouraging that someone someone as high up on the food chain at New Marvel is speaking so highly of JB. Perhaps a sign of things to come?

Millar has been throwing out praise about JB for a while now. I'm glad to see he's come around to wanting to see pure Byrne and not, as he says, "halfway house" teamings with the more current writers. Just like DC gives Frank Miller freedom to work on the comics he wants without fitting it in the current DCU, I see no reason Marvel or DC couldn't do the same for JB.

Hm, 'damn with faint praise, assent with civil leer and without sneering teach the rest to sneer'. I hope Mark Millar is genuine, but I wonder if he isn't just paying lipservice.

Why would Millar need to pay lipservice? What would he have to gain? Looked to me like the same thing many of us around here have been saying for a long time.

Joe Quesada is stepping down as EIC? Links please! That would be great news!
Surprised by Millar's support of JB. Personally, Millar is one of the worst writers in comics. It would be great however to have JB back at Marvel under new leadership.
Of the characters listed, I'd like to see The Invaders and Doctor Strange. However, if the list would include titles JB has previously worked on, then my choice would be Fantastic Four, without a doubt. No one has gotten it right since about 1986.
Edited to ask JB: Would you be open to the possibility of doing a mature rated (MAX) title should ^^***** revert back to Marvel? Any of the characters/concepts you've listed as possibilities would be wonderful in that format.

Let me see, JB can do--what?--three titles a month? How about Invaders,
Doctor Strange, and Nick Fury!?! That would suit me just fine.
At DC, I'd love to see him on All-Star Squadron.

I'd prefer one -- plus my steady stream of

your idea of faint praise is obviously different to mine . . .

I'd really love to see write and draw any of the icons like Cap, Iron Man, Hulk, etc. Yeah, I'm a pillar of New Marvel, but it's a broad church and some traditional books in there too would be great right now. Petition ASAP! But no halfway house by teaming him with someone from my generation. I want to see pure, undiluted Byrne. Anyone agree? ••• Pretty much a perfect description of HIDDEN YEARS. And look what happened there!

HIDDEN YEARS was more a niche book, a flashback series based on the original X-Men, a title that had failed years ago.
Millar's suggestions of Cap, Iron Man, Hulk would be far, far more mainstream.
