Dr. Strange - It wouldn't work. He is too tied up with the "New Avengers" at the moment.••• Kind of hard to read past this point in your post, Michael, since you seem to have skipped over the part in my post where I said I was "assuming an environment in which I could do what I felt should be done, and not be weighed down by the latest 'fixes'."

I agree with Gerry. It really does sound to me from reading that thread that Millar's praise of JB (and the subsequent defense of JB from the board members there) is genuine.
....You're probably both right and I'm being unfair, I just find it hard to equate a genuine admiration for JB's work with some of the writing Mr Millar has produced. I shouldn't allow my dislike for some of his work to turn into dislike of him.

. . . and Quesada didn't announce his resignation at SDCC today, so we
should all consider this a fun thought experiment.

Forgive my naievete, but why is that?
Perhaps Mr Byrne would be best suited to answer this?

Yeah, I got that. It's just that I thought this - fantasy or not - should be grounded in reality just a little bit. I love armchair editing, but an Alan Moore/Alan Davis run on Superman is too far removed from reality to be suggested. With that in mind, I wrote that a Dr. Strange run wouldn't work right now for the reasons stated. Would I like to see it? Sure. Would I like to see an Alan Moore/Alan Davis run on Superman? Absolutely. But it's not very likely.

The thread is speculative, born of the artist's sifting through some ideas that would be the LEAST affected by the boy's club while offering fresh story-telling opportunities...what's so hard to figure out?

Mark, there was a rumor on ComicBook Resources that Quesada was either stepping down or politely shitcanned from the EIC position and that Jeph Loeb would be the new EIC and big dog mucky muck creative dude at Marvel who would chart the company's "new course". Speculation was that the news would break at the SDCC.

Okay, if this is pure fantasy, and whatever happens, John will never ever return to Marvel, then what's the point? However, if there is an offbeat chance that he might return, I wanted to offer realistic suggestions.
Everything in between just doesn't make much sense to me.

In the article, Mark Waid says: "Working with Ross and Andy and all their little office Boomlets has been a pleasure,"
I hope he doesn't refer to them like that around the office... Seriously, though, I'm hoping this helps to bring about another issue or two of anything written by Alan Brennert. I'll be wishing the imprint well.

New Here, and just wanted to toss in my 2 cents.
Doctor Strange sounds great to me.
So does Cloak & Dagger.
But I think Silver Surfer or Adam Warlock would be great choices. It would let you play in the cosmic field, and not be tied down to what's happening on Marvel Earth.
