Doctor Strange would be my pick.

Ka-Zar in NY has been done about 10 years ago, by Mark Waid and Andy Kubert.

And as I recall sold poorly.

Andrew, I saw one other unused page from "Tomorrow" on Jim Warden's website earlier in the year. It wasn't a character shot, just a splash of a ship flying. It was sold before I had a chance to grab it. I purchased the Fury page directly from JB at a mini-Mid-Ohio con about twelve years ago. It is my favorite page in my collection.

Thanks for looking at my galleries.

I missed that Ka-Zar comic. I would have at least checked it out for the Kubert art.

I just vaguely remember that Ka-Zar series. It couldn't have made much of an impression, but I do recall the art being quite good.

I hope the rumors regarding Jeff Loeb do turn out to be true, otherwise this thread is somewhat of a tease.

I got back into comics a few years ago because of John Byrne doing interesting things, such as The Doom Patrol. I want to go to the comic book store every month and buy a comic done by John Byrne.

Guardians of the galaxy, the Invaders or Nick Fury all seem to have possibilities that might include great time travel stories. A type of tale that Mr. Byrne seems to love to tell.

Ka-Zar was done so well just as Marvel launched their three comics shops-only titles (Moon Knight and Micronauts being the other two). Bruce Jones and Brent Anderson did Ka-Zar wonderfully in New York City. That's why that choice didn't appeal to me. I'd rather see JB put Black Panther in NYC and Wakanda. I think the stories would be even better.

Doctor Strange, no question.  My limited exposure to the Ditko Doctor Strange stories makes me think that JB would be the perfect fit to tell stories in that mold.  More recent Doctor Strange stories spent too much time revolving around the character's love life and his inner turmoil but I'd hope that JB would treat the character as Ditko did in the stories I've seen, somewhat unrelatable and, well, strange who gets involved in these fantastic, psychedelic conflicts.  I think he's a perfect candidate for scraping the barnacles off and returning to his unique place in the Marvel universe.

The only thing really interesting about Kazar is the Savage Land.... The fish out of water storylines are good for an issue or two but not to build a series around...

The Guardians of the Galaxy plays better to JB's strengths and would be wonderful to see....plus the universe gives him such a wide playing field that you could never run out of stories....

The Black Fox would be just as cool though in that it would be JB doing Batman without it being Batman...
