JB do you have a story behind this image? I don't mean how the commission came to be, but how they ended up sitting there having ice cream. If so I'm sure its a winner.

That's a good one, John. Very warm and sweet without being corny. Franklin's relationship with Ben, as depicted by you, reminds me of my own relationship with a favorite uncle.

Interesting bit of trivia. The officer in the picture was officer Odie from the song Alices' Restaurant. Really nice picture.

I really love the concept and execution of this commision. It started me thinking about who I would substitute on this classic piece. Captain America and Hawkeye for sure, not sure about the third.

JB, is this soda shop based on a place you've actually visited or did it just come from your fertile imagination??

Since so many have asked, the idea for the piece
came from the customer. Even included reference.
On "Nighthhawks", for substitutions I might go for a
mixed bag -- like Daredevil, Batman, and Doctor
Doom.

What a great piece. If the Thing isn't the most likable superhero of all-time I don't know who is--particularly JB's version.
