It's vaguely ironic -- in a good way -- that in the Thing Stan and Jack set out to create an achetypal anti-hero, the first of the burgeoning "Marvel Age", and instead created what may be the Marvel Universe's ultimate true hero.

What an incredible original idea and a great execution! Now my brain is aflutter with other famous paintings and how they could be populated by superheroes. Mona Lisa? Christina's World? The Last Supper? The Birth of Venus?--oh, wait, JB (and Gary Cody) already did that one!

The Last Supper?
A villians version, with Dr Doom in the Jesus spot.

Christina's World?

That could be fun and eerie with Clea in the foreground and Strange's mansion out there in the wheat field.

I didn't say that.
It was just something I noticed as a carefully looked over the work.
Had I done a piece like this I'd have likely gone too far and added all
manner of shadows and reflections in the windows and backgrounds
making the piece much too busy and losing the intimate framing you
have of Ben, Franklin and the fry cook. Not having those extra rivets, in a
way, enhances the link between Franklin and Ben.
As you told me before, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

Who would be Judas?
(In the Last Supper idea, of course).
