I think I've never had a sig line ... either here or in other message boards.

My sig line is purely nostalgic.  I loved Magnus' site and sputnik vs. Modok's.  Still if it offends, I'll remove it.

The Magnus board does bring back some great memories, doesn't it?

It's not really a question of "offending". I simply can't understand why anybody would want their posts to have the same quote or graphic or combination

(See? Wasn't that annoying?)

Avatars, on the other hand, I love. I find they help to put an image to the name. I've seen pics of the real Matt Reed but, to me, he'll always be Robotman.---Yup! i dig avatars, and other than a few rare breaks, always use the same one.

I love me some avatars, Wallace's especially.  It reminds me of the lasses wearing his t-shirts.

Well, no sig lines = less clutter on the screen.

Going back to my McEwan.

There will soon be a war against avatar lovers and sig lovers. And it won't be pretty.

Though I've always had the signature and avatars off, I did have a signature.  Though I had forgotten all about it until JB started this thread.  They do seem silly since info about the poster is right next to the post.  I probably figured that my sig link would be an easy way for people to contact me...not that anyone here ever has (They seem more interested in John Byrne than me--imagine that!)

So I eliminated my sig line (Or at least I assume it's gone since I still have the feature off.) .  Web pages and e-mail are nicely listed on the Member list and profile pages, anyway, so having such in a sig is for the departmant of redundancy department anyway.
