Does anyone here have any thoughts on implantable devices detailed on pages 1002-1008 of the health care bill (pdf)?

----

I think you got your links switched. But anyway, the language in the health care bill is about setting up a national registry for implantable medical devices like pacemaker to gather data on their safety. There is even language that data should be gathered in a way that protects patient privacy.

Your other link is about the FDA assessing whether implantable RFID chips with patient data should be considered class II devices.

FDA classifications:
http://www.fda.gov/MedicalDevices/DeviceRegulationandGuidanc e/Overview/ClassifyYourDevice/default.htm

Apparently some people are making the strange leap that since RFID chips were classified as class II, the health care bill is mandating RFID implants for all. Which is odd.

Jodi, let's be more specific - it was Sean Hannity who showed the
footage.

He and Breitbart were the biggest supporter of this kid. As bad as
FOX is, it wasn't the network, it was Hannity.

Time to give Hannity the Rather treatment, I think.

Matthew, when you're down there, make careful note to show your
boy the facts, so he doesn't do like Hannity and write a book about all
the Reagan-esque things he'll do... that fly in the face of what Reagan
did. (This would work better with the link, but posting from my
phone... link in next post...)

Oops! More fun posting from my no-G shitty verizon phone - can't
get the link up or copied over here, so in interest of time, I withdraw
my last statement.

It's a pretty awesome comparison - Hannity vs Reagan. When I get
my computer of of the shop I'll post it.

Mike I agree Hannity needs to get the Rather treatment.

But I also feel Fox is responsible too, it's like a bad kid that continues to skip school, they don't just punish the student, they haul the parent into court to explain their parenting skills. Fox is getting very rich off of this. That's why I wish the guy could sue for slander because it would be Fox's pocket that the money would be coming from.  Also doesn't there have to be releases signed if you are shown on film?

Not in news.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is why I love Bill McCormick so much.

*****

After that perfectly deployed "douchebag," I gotta say I'd like a fan club application too please.

Where's Judge Judy when you need her? I am stunned. Absolutely stunned that anyone would attempt to gloss over this outrageous propaganda stunt by Fox News with such utter disregard of Reality staring them in the face because ignorance and blindness better serves the cause.

This is not a case of mere 'editing.' It is a complete, utter fabrication. And my hope is, that Acorn worker sues Fox News for millions -and that I would be lucky enough to make the jury. Jeff's being thick headed, but perhaps this analogy would make it clearer to him...

Interviewer: So Jeff, how do you feel about John Byrne's run on the Fantastic Four?
Jeff: Awesome. Infinitely better than the run of comics Marvel puts out now.
Interviewer: Really? And what's wrong with present day Marvel? They seem to be doing quite well these days. New Movie deals. Profits are up.
Jeff: I'd rather not see the kind of sex and violence Marvel puts in all-ages books.
Interviewer: What's wrong with a little sex? Sex sells everything these days.
Jeff: Not for me.
Interviewer: Would you support an FF comic where Sue gets raped? By Doctor Doom no less? You know, he's been after her for a very long time. It would make for a spectacular Doom vs. Reed ending.
Jeff: No.
Interviewer: How about another Byrne run on the FF then?
Jeff: Now that would be spectacular. I would soak up every panel.

Alright, let's 'edit' that, Fox News fashion. Maybe Jeff will understand it better:

Interviewer: So Jeff, how do you feel about John Byrne's run on the Fantastic Four?
Jeff: Awesome. Infinitely better than the run of comics Marvel puts out now.
Interviewer: Really? And what's wrong with present day Marvel? They seem to be doing quite well these days. New Movie deals. Profits are up.

It is MORE than just 'editing' when the clip -as edited- portrays a scene in an entirely different light than as it actually played out. -Such is the case with this "Acorn Scandal." It's more than, "From what I can tell from the Maddow clip is that O'Keefe didn't dress up as a stereotypical pimp while claiming to be one.  Is that the big lie?"

Nooooooo.

The big lie is the Acorn worker listens in a calm, agreeable manner to this $***Thead's story about a prostitution ring. Asking questions. Vitrually agreeing with the guy. -And then, the Acorn worker immediately CONTACTS THE POLICE.

Instead, Fox runs the interview MINUS that little bit where the Acorn worker says, "No" I wouldn't support a Marvel comic where Doom Rapes Sue." Fox runs the clip saying, "Look. This guy is AGREEING to  a deal of human slavery and prostitution! Look how he calmly says 'yes' to these vile things..... HE -AND ACORN- MUST BE VILE!

In the immortal words of Judge Judy......."DON'T YOU GET IT???!!!!"

The other clip shows a woman supporting the female plant. It portrays the woman as if she too is agreeing to something illicit. Except the woman is offering encouragement that the female plant not give up in her search for HOUSING.

In the immortal words of Judge Judy..... "DON'T YOU GET IT???!!!"

-And if by some chance Jeff, you don't get it. I do so hope you are a beautiful guy. I mean really. I hope you're gorgeous. At least that lasts for awhile.

On the other hand, dumb is forever.

This is why I roll my eyes when people claim programs like "The West Wing" as the way political leaders should act.  When you write both sides of the dialogue, you can, as the author, decide on the outcome.  Much like Rich's little piece of fanfic posted here.

Let's look at some real things here.  Maddow makes the claim that O'Keefe lied because he didn't wear the "pimp" outfit he wore on some of the FNC interviews.  Well, look at the footage of him opening the door (beginning of the video).  Pin striped shirt.  Nope, no pimp costume.

Next, Maddow makes a deal about using unedited footage.  Then, she edits the footage for her broadcast.

The police weren't called immediately.  Well, let me rephrase that.  Someone that works for the police department was called.  That person is a cousin of Mr. Vera (the ACORN worker in the video).  He left a voice mail message.  Mr. Vera  told O'Keefe that he had a cousin that works for the police department.  Mr. Vera did finally talk to law enforcement officials...9 days later.   Sure doesn't sound immediate to me, but it makes a better narriative for Maddow.

Jerry Brown's report concluded that  there were *“terrible judgment and highly inappropriate behavior” from ACORN employees, just not “prosecutable crimes.”*  (Quote from reference link below)

Read the actual report. (PDF File)
