FRY 'em for O'Brien!

I like the cut of your jib, Mr. Brown. Just want you to know there's a place for you in the McCallum administration, after Mayor O'Brien is serving time for trying to raise zombies. (Although, South of Market, raising zombies, that just might be a vote getter...)

Until then, Vote for O'Brien: He's Dead Right!

I don't understand this. Can someone show me what law makes zombie raising illegal? Is it some archaic, defunct law against necromancy?

Distrubing the (rest in) peace, perhaps?

Edited to Add:

The question made me curious, so I looked up the California Cemetery Law, and Mike won't do prison time, but he might have to pay a fine:

§ 2383. Fines

(a) The fine for a violation of the following provisions shall be from $150 to $1,500:

Health and Safety Code
7050.5 Removal of remains from county
7051 Removal of remains without authorization
7052 Disinterment without authority

I don't know, a good lawyer might be able to find some grounds for dismissal.....

Yes, you would expect counsel to plot a successful strategy...

MO these whites were not rich and a lot of them were former aerospace engineers that would take any job to survive.

I would vote for anyone who could raise the dead from their graves. I've always wanted to live in a world overrun with the living dead.

I've watched enough zombie movies so I know what not to do.

Hell isn't that what our congress is now anyway (and most of the higher ups in major companies)?  =)

Michael Retour, you lead a fascinating life!

A political hired gun managing candidates in different parts of the country. A multiple time congressional candidate yourself, in at least one instance defending illegal immigrants before a swarm of angry out-of-work aerospace engineers. A stalwart of the California Democratic Party. A wife who has successfully sought elected office.

It just grows more and more impressive with every post!

So, seriously, Jim Lynch - let's talk about your thoughts on running for mayor!

(Not that I didn't love Mike O's plan, mind you...)

Handy dandy little website I'd like to share with one and all:

http://www.campaignmoney.com/

It lets you look up political contributors by name, country, zip code, etc., back through the 2000 election. It covers donations to candidates, the various national committees, political action committees, 527 organizations and the like.

And, would you believe it, not a single dime nationwide in the last decade has come from anyone named Retour (first or last name), let alone Michael Retour. No candidates receiving money by that name, either, in the last decade.

How very odd, because in my active political days even when I was a starving student and a pennyless young man starting out his career, I always managed to slip the political party of my choice a few dollars. (I stopped making political contributions in 1992 when I went to work for the City of Edmonton as the Elections Analysis. as I thought that could create a conflict of interest. And, of course, I've not made any political contributions down here due to being a foreign national -- excepting PBS, of course!)

Now, since I am loathe to call anyone a liar, and Mr. Retour insists that Michael Retour is the name his mother gave him, I shall take him at face value and conclude that Retour must be a unique middle name.

Thus, we shall recalibrate our search to the political Mike and Michaels of Orange County, California. (I hate giving up on my LaRouche theory, because the pieces all fit, dang it!)
