Enjoying the opportunity to break out the old pencil and paper during a slow period at work, and celebrating the wrap-up of the 2011-2012 NFL season while I'm at it...

Something else I've begun working on, and may complete and post to my DeviantART.com gallery this weekend.  The swing to and from day shift to nights and back will certainly give me the opportunity.

Beware of the chick in the scale armor bikini...

One thing I'm doing is picking up on the changes done by Corel to the latest Paint Shop Pro image-editing software (x4). They've kept the basic user interface, but there are a few tweaks. Some of them actually work out better for me, such as the direct operation of editing text onto an image being worked on, as if you were using a word processor (the old 9.0 version I was using placed the text in a pop-up window over the image pane). Others, like the "accept changes" button on one corner of the window frame, make me think "Was that really necessary?"

My "toolbox"...

This is basically what it is now (though not everything is shown in this photo).  A portable drafting table, various rulers, the set of Pentel GraphGear 500 leadholders, pencils, pens, brushes, kneaded rubber eraser, Ames guide, eraser shield, masking tape and two types of Pelikan® brand India ink are shown here.

Off-picture is a Rotring® Profil drafting board, a portable clipboard easel used for sketching and painting, a collection of markers, colored pencils, Winsor & Newton half-pans, and various triangles and french curves stashed about.

These pics are not 100% correct as I painted on here face right before I took it to the gallery. I shaded the side of her nose a bit more. I later varnished the work on the gallery wall, so I cut it pretty close. I often take the work to the gallery completely wet lol, I can't stop until I am out of time.
