Great energy on this! Feels like you are in the fight yourself.Thor (Mr. Byrne's take in particular) is one of my all-time favorites!
I'm pulling for the Odinson on this one.
I suspect the next panel is ol' Mjolnir to the gamma cranium!

seeing a glimpse in a fight like this makes me wonder what led to this brawl.

Me, too. It also makes me wanna see how it progresses and ends.
Fantastic commission.

Instant Classic!
What a great Thor cover image, if this were drawn as a cover. "...And now... THE HULK!"

Does anyone have an opinion on who would win this battle? It looks like Hulk has the upper hand, so my vote goes to the monster.

Thor is considered "cooler" than the Hulk, so I'm pretty sure most people will go with the God of Thunder. However, I believe that despite Thor's years (and years and years) of fighting experience and mighty Mjolnir, the Hulk should just edge him out in a slugfest.
Now if Thor uses that magic mallet of his to open up a magic portal or something...

I have to agree. I wish John Byrne was still drawing the Hulk comic. This would be a legendary battle if it were part of his run on the title. The emotion in Thor's and Hulk's expression is fantastic. The intensity is all there on the page!
