If those who refuse confinement were only a threat to themselves, it would be still very stupid but of course they’re threatening the entire US population with this decision. And the ironic thing is that they’re using the « my body my choice » motto, I mean aren’t they roughly the same people as pro-life protesters ?

God news everyone! From the newest roundup of polls this morning on Realpolitics.com:
Wednesday, April 22
Florida: Trump vs. Biden Quinnipiac &nb sp; Biden 46, Trump 42 Biden +4
Pennsylvania: Trump vs. Biden FOX News Biden 50, Trump 42 Biden +8
Michigan: Trump vs. Biden FOX News Biden 49, Trump 41 Biden +8
Many have noted that polls of the general population are irrelevant, as it is the dozen or so swing states that decide who gets the White House. We are still 7 months out, but in the Realpolitics polls of just swing states, Trump is only leading in about 2 of them. And Florida?! A Republican can't get to President if he can't carry Florida.

There's a loooooong way to go Peter. And in the last election, the polls were wholly unreliable. It turned out many people lied.

I'm definitely not interested in counting the chickens before they hatch in 2020.

Understand also that there are likely many stealth Trump voters out there. That is, people who approve and support Trump but keep quiet about it because they don't want to face the backlash they know they would get if they were more open about it.
So they will keep their mouths shut and quietly vote Trump.
These are the ones you won't see in polls and surveys and I'd guess there is a very high number of them.
In a way, the media (social media in particular) has done us a disservice by taking the 'tar & feather' approach to dealing with the MAGA crowd.
If the vitriol and backlash wasn't so intense, perhaps more of the MAGA's would be open about their stance (yes a great many of them are very vocal about their allegiance but I'm betting just as many are not) and we as a nation would have a more accurate view of exactly where we stand on election day.
Shaming the Trump crowd into silence may seem like a good thing, but it's going to skew the data. Silent or not, they will still vote.

*******
Is there such a beast? Where I’m at, it’s exactly the opposite. I can’t even keep a Biden sign out on my front lawn.

I'm sure both sides get some level of backlash but it's seems more prevalent on the MAGA side if what I see on social media is any indication.
I see many more cases of Trump supporters loudly referred to as "Nazi's" and "Facists" because of who they support than the other way around.

On one hand: Radio insult comedian and Republican Party leader Rush Limbaugh, who has referred to women as FemiNazis nearly every day on his show for more than thirty years and was recently awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
On the other hand: some rando in a store.
Yep, both sides.

This time around, I'll be surprised if there's not more the other way 'round: MAGA folk who have realized they bet on the wrong horse but don't want to make it public and be blasted by their more hardcore pals.

Since I don't listen to Rush Limbaugh even one day let alone every day for more than 30 years, I'm not qualified to comment on that.
I simply pointed out why many of the MAGA crowd might choose to keep their opinions to themselves until election day and because of this, surveys and polls may not be a very accurate way to gauge where we're standing right now.
If you are suggesting that there is no open hostility against those wearing the red hats, I suggest you do a little research. On the other hand, if your point is simply that there is hostility on both sides, I will happily agree with you there and leave it at that as I'm not terribly interested in getting into a tit-for-tat debate on which side is more picked on.

In either case, any polling data should be taken with a huge grain of salt. How many people likely didn't bother voting in 2016 because the polls (along with the media pushing those polls) convinced them that Hillary Clinton would not only win but win in a landslide?
Over-confidence didn't do us any favors in 2016 and it won't help us now.

My point is, the unhinged rhetoric on the Right comes straight from party leaders and the president. The unhinged rhetoric from the Left comes from nobodies. There's no "both sides."
