I'm waiting to see how this election year ends before I consider THAT possibility.

I can not see it, unless the Democratic candidates fight to be the most "progressive" candidate. I am not sure the US is ready for that yet.

A whole lot of Democrats better get their tails to the voting booths in all those red states if they don't want to see Rump II.

The only way I see it not coming to pass is Trump declining to run. Will he really want to work that hard for ANOTHER four years? Oh, but that ego...

I think in order to beat Trump, the left would have to
run with someone that the more outspoken left would not
like, someone more center.

But I also feel Sanders could have a shot at winning.
Not that the voter agrees with him completely, but the
combination of "he's not Trump" and fully embracing his
views would somehow get him over the finish line.

Do the Democrats have ANYONE who is showing Presidential signs? I'm just not seeing anyone credible to take on the tour de force that is Trump.

If it were me, I would run on things that both
conservatives and democrats are likely to agree on and
Trump has not done in "draining the swamp" and attack
him in those areas.

- Get rid of big donors and money in politics
- Term limits
- Corporations influencing politicians
- Not be afraid of questioning their own
- Anything else that would restore trust in the system

"Make politicians great again"

It's roughly 2-1/2 years away for the election. No Democrat is likely to make any real moves towards running until the results from the mid-terms have truly settled in.

Romney isn't exactly a great judge of the voting public at large. His 2012 campaign and his back and forth on Trump show he'll say whatever suits the moment. If the polls in 2016 ultimately failed to predict the outcome accurately I'd say one person prognosticating years in advance is practically worthless.

Kamala Harris. But if people lost their minds over a black President and a female Presidential nominee, they’ll really lose their shit over a multi-racial female Presidential nominee.

Trump has replaced career politicians beholden to special interests with former lobbyists of those special interests. He calls that “draining the swamp”, and his supporters eat it up. That’s not going to be an effective bipartisan argument.
