Looks like they just put up a single sign , and intentionally off to the side of the intersection to not confuse motorists. Took me a moment to figure out why they used Blue instead of the official Green color for NYC road signage. Duh.
It's not a true "renaming" of Delancy Street in any way, but still a nice honorary gesture. Stan Lee got a similar sign in the Bronx a few years back: LINK

Excellent I remember when Wolverhampton train station was renamed Wolverine station.
As a kid, I never thought we would see such recognition.

I remember that James, had to do a double take when i saw it on the local news! Sure i still have a pic somewhere!
Similarly when Superman hid Lois Lane for her own safety in Heath Town, an area of Wolverhampton with a rough reputation! Think it was in a Lois Lane comic?

I will, of course, forever get a kick out of this, as I used to live just down the road from its inspiration

I’m sure I have mentioned that Ha’penny Green is where my mother was stationed during WW2.

You did - I remembered you saying that when I first asked if there was a connection. So much Byrne family history around the Midlands

Indeed! Factor in the Hulme side (my mother’s family) and we’re all over the place!(Imagine if I had decided to use my mother’s maiden name as a pen name! People have enough trouble pronouncing “Byrne”!)
