Sorry, I completely forgot about the black and white Howard the Duck magazine.  I meant the series published under the Marvel Max imprint in 2002, which I think would have been volume 3. As for Ghost Rider Annual, the original GR series had no annuals, so volume 1 of the annual was from the 90s and volume 2 was from 2008.  Aplologies for any confusion.

The 70s were a different time and since books and films like "Rosemary's Baby", "The Exorcist", and "The Omen" were so popular, it bled over into the comics world.

How well I remember Marvel (where I did not work yet) scrambling to climb onto the supernatural bandwagon. Anything and everything became monster driven. It was at this time that Hank McCoy was changed to a monstrous form, something that still does not sit well with me!
