Sometimes I think that some of those who find "Bad Byrne" in your written posts might not come to that conclusion if they got to hear the mellow, pleasant timbre of your voice and how often humor suffuses what you say. (Some of those, anyway. There will always be others who interpret "bad" no matter what.)

"She's not the 'Hard To See Girl'" made me laugh out loud!

Regarding the talk of suggesting Sue's force field instead of drawing it, this brilliant scene immediately flashed in my head (3 uses on a single page!):

Yes, I do often get the feeling some read my posts using the voice of the Wicked Witch of the West.

(Remembering how Chris would call me to give dramatic readings of his latest scripts. For Magneto he’d use that cackling voice. When Magneto became a “good guy” I asked if he still sounded like that.)

Thank doG comics are silent. That would have ruined the X-men for me.

Vinny’s post shows why JB is JB’s best inker. That’s comics!

I've read this from you before, but it is just as amusing as the first time. Very good!

Re: the panels from 260 above, love that three-issue arc. The first FF back issue I ever bought was 259 and it's still my favourite FF cover.

When I ordered my first commission from JB, it was the FF vs Tyros and Doom.

Edited to correct myself: it was Terrax I went for, not Tyros.

I just finished listening to this podcast. Of course I was expecting it to be a very interesting and informative listen. What I wasn't expecting was how gosh darn funny it would be! Very entertaining!

Thanks—though I don’t think that page is a particularly good representation of my inks. I was switching tools at the time, and I think it shows!

JB, I'm sure you have an eye for your mistakes that far surpasses our own - does it extend to other artists? For example, are you able to look at the final product of a comic and recognize that some of the artist's work within deviates in quality even when compared to different pages of the same issue? Or if the quality of an issue is down from the artist/inker/etc.'s usual efforts?

Shows to go ya!

That window, the Fantastic Four issues around the Doom solo-story, are when I felt you were hitting a level of excellence that I would compare to anyone - partly for the details and shading, and partly for how easy you made it look.

I was pretty young, so forgive me -- I have no idea why I thought this, but I actually had the feeling you were showing off!
