I hope everyone had a Thanksgiving of some type to enjoy. Even our out of country friends, there must be something to be thankful for.
As with the last several years, our home was filled with family and friends for Thanksgiving. We had all regular food staples: Turkey, Dressing, Mashed Potatoes w/gravy. Ham, Corn on the cob and Candied Yams. Then there was Pumpkin, apple and cherrry pie.
For Some reason this year, we did not pull out the cranberry sauce, and no one missed it.
Then there were the extras, things you don't think about but they fill up the table:
Three types of Olives: Garlic, Pimento and Jalapeno stuffed. Raw Carrots and tiny little dill pickles. Garlic Potatoes. Toffee covered cashews. 2 types of Mac N cheese: Regular and Spam-Mac (Actually delicious). Green Bean Casserole. Devilled eggs. Chicken legs. 3 dozen rolls from Spring Creek BBQ. Cupcake shaped brownies, Chocolate chip and Peanut butter cookies. I also had Sopapilla dough ready to make just in case, but everyone was full. A lot of everything was devoured.
Now my Wife will try to see if she can Make Monica Geller's famous Post Thanksgiving sandwich.
Some of our guests were surprised at some of the dishes we had at the table, but we just told them they have become a regular thing.
What are the oddities at your table that might surprise a last minute guest?
Edited for spelling.
