Happy Birthday to a true master of the craft, with the unique ability to portray downright silly and deadly serious at the exact same time!

Shares the mutant ability with JB to make every character look exactly the way they should look on the page.

It's a crying shame that he hasn't drawn a Marvel/DC crossover!

Have followed him since his early days of drawing posters in Marvel UK
comics.
The growth in his art between the first Captain Britain story he drew and the
first one in THE DAREDEVILS is insane. He became a master story teller in
about a year.

I recall around 1980 i started buying comics via mail order
for the first time via Maya Merchandising which was the
mail order arm of a store which name escapes me (could have
been Dark They Were And Golden Eyed), and the order booklet
had fan illustrations, i am pretty sure Alan drew a few
such as Kirk Douglas as Daredevil and Clint Eastwood as
Wolverine.
Loved his art and even bought the Royal Mail Marvel stamp
set he did a few years ago which included posters of the
stamp designs.
His art has the fluidity and detail that J.B.'s has, but in
his own unique style.
