My mother has 90 in sight, but she's still going up and down the stairs, basement to first floor, first floor to second floor, every day, all the time. My father died in his 90s, but in his final years he announced, "I'm not going upstairs anymore," even though he could do it, slow and steady, and it had a rapidly deleterious effect upon him -- coupled significantly with his subsequent decision not to walk around much at all. Hmph.
So, when my wife sometimes says we could move to a one-level home, or even just move downstairs to the extension in our current home, full bed and bath, etc., I am resistant.
