I know that over the years, Logan's healing factor has
ramped up (and up, and up). In the early pages of
Elsewhen, Cyclops describes Logan, after Storm's attack,
as being "cooked clean through", and there is a rather
horrified look on Storm's face after seeing his
condition. Subsequently, Logan is right as rain (other
than being buck naked) at the end of the adventure, which
would seem to indicate that at this point in this
particular X-men timeline, said healing factor is *quite*
powerful. Would a healing factor of that potency be
roughly what you had in mind for him back when you were
working on Uncanny?

There was an X-men annual in the late 80s where he was restored even from a single drop of blood. But there was a magical macguffin involved so that's not your typical Wolverine situation

When Paul Smith was artist on UNCANNY, there was a story where Wolverine was badly injured by a katana strike through the gut, and it took him something like two weeks to fully heal. Nowadays that would take about two seconds.

Getting punched into orbit slowed him down a tad!

(An iconic moment, and happily before Shooter’s whim of iron decided Logan’s healing factor had to be more “realistic”.)
