Just frittered away a few minutes reading thru a thread of people reporting their bad experiences with me at various conventions. Funny thing, tho. These cons were literally all over the map, and all during the years when I was attending only MidOhioCon. Many read as the kinds of BBSs they really wished they could have so they could tell their buddies.

It's funny how this sort of thing has spilled into Youtube culture. I came across a video from a guy titled "Why I'll never buy the new John Byrne X-Men comic book". My immediate reaction was "....and why should we care?". I figured there'd be some sort of BBS, and I felt that my time would be wasted, so I just went to the middle of the video where I heard "and he kept on talking to Howard Chaykin like I wasn't there". Perfect soundbite to know that that I was right, and I went elsewhere.
There was some other clip from anotther dude with an ELSEWHEN-related title, spent 2-3 minutes talking about it, only to say that he wasn't picking it up because he just wasn't interested. Ok, fine, but then why the hell did he even make the video, then??
The perceived self-importance of some people is staggering.

I know this is not a new thing, but public figures being so
willing to blatantly lie about things that are so easily
proved or disproved is simply emboldening the general
public to do the same to greater and greater degrees.
Liar: Joe Schmo threw a drink in my face at this rally!
Debunker: Uh, Joe Schmo was three counties away, here's
photo and video.
Liar: *shrug*, repeats story. Or even more maddening, "I'M
LIVING MY TRUTH!"

You can find whatever you want online but I thought this would be a good
place to chime in and say I’ve heard and read nothing but positive buzz and
commentary recently related to JB and especially Elsewhen. Take that for
what it’s worth.

One of the many downsides to 'content creators' is that velocity of content is seen as more important than actual content, so people feel the need to post about anything just to have a fresh post, regardless of whether or not they have anything valuable to add to the topic.
