Or, more correctly, who has seen/met him?

I was just perusing the issues that will be contained in the second ELSEWHEN volume, and found myself pausing over the scene where Uatu appears before Bobby and Warren. They both know who he is, but aside from playing chorus in UNCANNY 137, where he had no contact with the X-Men, what other intersections have their been? How widely is his existence known here on Earth?

Is this something I need to address as we prepare the pages for publication in the real world?

With Reed and Xavier being contemporaries and, presumably, friends, I
think it would stand to reason he would’ve told Charles about Uatu.

With Reed and Xavier being contemporaries….

•••

Despite the early issues establishing that Reed fought in WW2, while Charles was born around the same time as the Manhattan Project—only to later be seen fighting in Korea!

Ah, Marvel Time….!

LINK

By Terry Austin! Pasting it here won't really do it justice.

Honestly, there was a moment in ELSEWHEN that gave me pause when Wonder Man called out Wolverine's name, when this would be the first time that the Avengers have ever met the New X-Men. But with Hank being the link between the two, it's still plausible - funny enough, you established in FF#286 that he recorded briefings about the X-Men for the Avengers.

Your thought about Uatu did hit me for a sec when I first read the page with Warren and Bobby, for the same reason. But then I used FF#48 as the link - MARVELS established that the Coming of Galactus was a widely-televised event, so the Watcher's presence should be widely known as a result.

Marvel sure occupies a different world, doesn’t it? Super folk alone make for a helluva difference. Add in extraterrestrials popping by on a regular basis, along with gods and all things supernatural…….

Yet Shooter was starting to insist it was all “the world outside your window”—-at least until he shifted focus to his New Universe.

Mea culpa—tho I was strictly art robot on that job.

Time travel. Space travel. How far off-model did our friendly neighborhood wallcrawler deift in those days?

Yup. Spider-Man went through almost exactly the same cycle.

Should’ve used colleagues rather than contemporaries, I suppose.
