I woke up ten minutes before my meditation alarm went off. The genius of
that scene entered my mind and I reenacted it note for note as I gazed into
infinity. Was I all of 15 when John directed that movie? I went from fearful
that Doom would wield the power cosmic and hurt our heroes, to respectful
of Doom’s powers of deduction, to showing empathy to a bad guy who has
to sleep with one eye open due to his beliefs. Doom was never the same, for
the better.
I know we are almost all things X around here for the moment, but flowers
to our host for making the best bad guy even bester.

A particularly strong issue from a favorite period of John's run both story- and art-wise; this sequence got welded into my teenage braincells.

Writing Doom was close to the most fun I had during my time on FANTASTIC FOUR. Crowding Galactus for top honor.
