Mentioning this book in another thread inspired me to google it—and to be reminded, to my shock and horror, that the collected version came out on August 1st, 1994.

Thirty two years ago!!!

Reading some comments, I was pleased to note that, of what I saw, the only negative comment was that it was too short! (Blame Dark Horse for that! Originally published in serial form, one of the things that got me to do it was a promise the episodes would be collected and I would have the opportunity to add pages to better link the chapters together. When publication time came they backed off from that promise, declaring compliance to be “too expensive”. :-ppp)

BTW, still haven’t been able to track down a copy of the French RAW Artists Edition. :-(

I got my copy directly from one John Byrne. DragonCon 1994. The guy in
front of me in line asked you to sign his copy. I made the comment to my
cousin, “I didn’t know they were collecting that!” and you promptly reached
under your tabletop podium-thing and grabbed a copy. You then signed it,
handed it to me and continued to converse with us and sign the books I had
brought along.

Great book and great memory.

I’ll bet that guy in front of you could build a Big Bad Byrne story about that!

Oh—I found a real negative comment. Guy said this was a “stupid idea for a comic book.” Although that was ALL he said. Nothing to support it.

Also said it was too much like one of the AvP movies. Uhhh…..

Your first issue of WONDER WOMAN had also come out that week and you
had asked something about me getting to read it yet. I answered I wasn’t
able to yet because I didn’t get to pick it up from my LCS before heading to
Atlanta. I got a signed copy of that on that day, as well.

This is one of the few JB books I have never read.

I am always on the hunt for JB trades when I am in
bookshops, and I have never see this one. I think most
people who snagged a copy do not want to give it up!

When Marvel published the two "Marvel Universe by John
Byrne" omnibuses, it filled in a lot of random missing
pieces for me. But ALIEN: EARTH ANGEL remains elusive!

It’s not a trade, Tim. It’s pretty much just a regular-sized issue. It was
originally a serial published in the Diamond catalog in, I believe, 2-page
installments. So it wasn’t collecting a multi-issue series or anything like
that.

Thank you, Brian! I have been keeping my eyes peeled for a
square bound trade and totally looking in the wrong place!
