Looks like a fun get together. Neat diner!
I'm guessing the bulk of the conversations, maybe all of it, were not focused on back in the day stuff regarding comics and the like. And there'd be absolutely nothing wrong with that if it was the case.
How often do you get to see Walt and Weezi in person, JB?

How often do you get to see Walt and Weezi in person, JB?••• We worked out that the last time Walt and I breathed the same air was at a New York con in 2017, commemorating Jack Kirby’s centennial.

Yesterday, my wife had me withhold my comments about our local political tv ads..she had heard enough commentary from me.
Sadly she wasn't wrong, the words just instantly come out, so I went out and shouted at the clouds...it helped ; )

When I was right at the beginning of my time at Marvel Walt and Weezi took me out to dinner. Part way into the meal I apologized for sitting there all tongue tied. “I’m having dinner with Walter Simonson and Louise Jones!” Weezi flashed her biggest smile and said “Yes, but we’re having dinner with John Byrne!” A defining moment in my career!

I was derided (not exactly 'hazed', too strong a word), in the later years of primary school, for my interest in Marvel Comics.
That was 'round the time Claremont & JB's X-Men run had ended. JB's Fantastic Four run was being printed, sometimes in 116-page editions, and Thor (Mighty, The) was getting his own specials, 68 to 116 pages, authored by someone a close friend of mine couldn't help but call "Simpson". Mind-blowing sci-fi, action, superhero, mythical, fantasy stuff.
1988-92 was a good time to be a Marvel Comics reader in Finland. Bullies be damned.
