"Nobody is above the law," said Minnesota Representative Tom Emmer. "We look forward to learning more details about this raid and investigation .

“ACCOUNTABILITY IS COMING!"

The Republican Party, where irony goes to die.

Maybe she's been selling political favors for bitcoin, or allowing no bid contracts to go to family members and friends. Maybe she's been manipulating the stock market with her political threats and profiting off the insider knowledge or-- even worse-- selling that insider knowledge to other traders. Maybe she's been shaking down companies and law firms for millions of dollars by threatening them with investigations if they don't pay up.

This level of corrupt "law-enforcement" is indescribably repulsive and un-American.

Just a quick scrape off the surface of Trump's corruption is so colossal that it numbs the mind. Reporters Jonathan Swan and Maggie Haberman estimated in their new book that we know about 5% of the corruption that our president is involved in. So, naturally, the GOP supports this attack on a U.S. congress-person.

As soon as Trump started complaining about the Justice Dept being weaponised against him, we should have known that he would be doing exactly that against his political enemies in the near future. It's disgusting, authoritarian, anti-democratic bullshit.

And if Congress were worth their salt, they would do something about it.

If "American-ism" is not an ideal, but actually just the latest actions of her governing party, then it has never been much to speak of.

I speak of "un-American" here as something fundamentally against the guiding principles that have made America (sometimes) great.

Exactly. It's his playbook. He accuses his opponents (or
just people he dislikes) of exactly the things he is
doing/has done/will/would do. Predictable as a clock.
