Chris Matterface posted these images to Facebook from an unnamed Pub in Walsall.  JB, were you aware of these?
Edited for clarity.

The name of the pub is "The Waterfront".

Yes, I am familiar.

I lived in Walsall for about two days—if you count the half day I was still inside my mother!

We were there because friends had recommended the “maternity home” to my mother as the best in the area. (Time it was: Dad took mom there, dropped her off…and went home!)

As mentioned, The Waterfront, part of the Hungry Horse chain. Have eaten
there many times, and posted these a few years ago.
When I first saw them I was amazed, and very pleased.
There’s also a pub in Bilston not too far away with a JB inspired Superman
on the wall.

I'm old enough to remember when the area where The
Waterfront is was a Ford car dealership and houses! No
retail park or pubs/eateries!

On my last return to England, in 1988 (the year I became an American citizen) I rented a car and did a big circle tour, covering most of the South.

For some reason it didn’t occur to me to swing a bit north and visit Walsall.

Remembering, a reason for not visiting Walsall was that I did not then know the address of that maternity home. Twenty three years later, when my Dad died, I was sent a whole bunch of his papers, passports and the like. Included were a sheaf of greeting cards that had been sent to my mother when I was born, including the envelopes and the address.

Next time!

You listed the address in James Woodcock's previous post on the subject.  I only saw that this morning.

I was checking on Google Maps the distance from the Pub to there.  I went to street level and turned a bit to look around and there it was. A better shot at the address than what James had posted years back.
