I like the shading, but the configuration is slightly off. The top of his yellow
"girdle" should be at least as high as the base of his sternum. As they have
it here, the yellow part looks vaguely like an adult diaper.

Perhaps this will be the first Mugg on which I attempt a bit of customizing.

You're right.  I've seen these in person a couple times but haven't paid attention; are the details like that usually painted on, or are there raised areas for belts, trunks, etc?

Love the Iron Man. But something about the Super Skrull reminds me of the movie GREMLINS. Hmph.

Galactus Mighty Mugg arrived today. Nicely done, tho I will have to figure
out a way to color in the whites in his eyes. I restored those built in
focusing frames or lenses or whatever the heck it was Kirby drew, but
unfortunately most of the colorists somehow decided this mean Galactus
had black corneas and white irises. And, alas, the Mugg is colored that way,
too.

Pretty much unavoidable with those proportions!

Y'know, every time I see something like this. . .

. . . it depresses me to know that there are some fans, somewhere, who are
wracking their brains trying to fit these things into continuity.

Where the hell are the Joker's eyes on that thing? Or are your kids supposed
to draw them in themselves? That'd be cool.

JB, I wonder, would you simply lower the pecs...
(seen here)

...or are you considering 'raising' the diaper?

Funny thing -- as Buscema originally drew the character, the "belt" was
lower. . .

…but it read more like a wide belt. Maybe it's just the shape of the
Mugg that makes it look wrong.

In any case, my choice would be to raise the yellow, not make his pecks
droopy!!

...droopy."
HA, I know the example I posted was crappy.   :)
Good call on raising the belt instead, but try to ensure that he
doesn't end up having 'old man pants'.
'tis a fine treacherous line.

BTW, speaking of 'droopy pecs', I'm immediately reminded
of the time that I posted a drawing of a female Iron Fist
with poorly drawn breasts and you mocked me saying
"Remember Lars, SOFT, soooffftt."
-good times, good times-
