You made the right choice America. Congrats!
Now, should I get my Canadian friends to ship you some real beer to
celebrate?

Just got back from the Obama event.  An amazing experience.  All walks of life, everyone getting along.  A sea of people like I have never seen, and I have seen many a big event in Chicago. Regardless of political leanings, it was an event where you could feel the historic magnitude.

****

I envy you Bob. My only regret is not being there tonight. Ive never seen anything like this in my life.

What better to use my 600th post than to say....

This is America, at its best. Whether or not you wanted Obama to win, we must salute a country where hard work and talent can take some one to the very top.

In other threads, on one particular issue I've been scathing about the US, but on this what can one say but, admirable!  An example to all our politicians and all our voters.

Ted Stevens may win. It'll be fun watching the Senate expel him.

Congratulations United States of America!

For the JBF members, thanks for the great debates we shared here, as Sting says in his song, this is one world, not three, and  it is my honour to have shared my opinions here with such wonderful people.

Finally the world have a leadership that we can admire and support.

In a victory for comedians everywhere, Al Franken wins the Minnesota Senate seat !

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

It looks like this may be the 2008 version of "Dewey defeats Truman".

It feels that today is a special day, have the same kind of feeling of that the world shared after the fall of the wall in Berlin.

Thank-you America!

The world salute your president Obama!

So the ban on gay marriage will pass in Florida and Arizona and more than likely will pass in California. What the fuck is wrong with people? For Christ's sake Arkansas is going to pass a measure banning gay couples from adopting children. Better they stay in foster care and moved from house to house than live in a loving home just because the adopting couple is the same sex?

My happiness for Obama winning is tempered by how fucking stupid a country I actually live in. I'm disgusted right now.
