My happiness for Obama winning is tempered by how fucking stupid a country I actually live in. I'm disgusted right now.

William, I wonder if the question is actually confunsing some people. Same thing happened here when we had a referendum to ban guns for civilians. Many voters were confused by the question, because when someone voted for "yes" the person might think that the vote is a "yes" to gay marriage, not a "yes" for a BAN of gay marriage. I know that it was an issue here. Many voters asked by reporters had difficulty what the "yes" represented, not sure if the same could have happened in US now.

Jodi, you live in Indiana? I almost moved there last year to work for ThyssenKrupp near Urbana-Champaign. And I love Indiana because they have a city named Brazil.
This was the second time I almost moved to US to work for Thyssenkrupp, last time was in 2005, when I was very close to move to Terre-Haute, Illinois.

President Bush, you may start your pardons now.  And don't worry: all the people who decried Clinton's post-election behavior are prepared to look the other way.

A buddy of mine, upon hearing McCain's concession speech, turned to me
and said, "It's like we've left the Dark Ages."

I replied, "Yeah, soon we'll be able to draw using perspective and write music
and literature of a non-religious nature again."

Both candidates gave good speeches but, wow, what a difference between the crowd reactions.
