AFTER the successful invasion, of course . . .

It will never work based on numbers. The U.S. only has 3 million military personnel. They have brazilians.

You voted for McCain right?
Probably not happy with ONLY two wars wanting for more?
I didn't vote for John McCain, but I have a TON of respect and regard for the man. He's far from a dove but his long record in the senate (Iraq notwithstanding) makes clear that he is far from a hawk as well. Senator McCain has a long history of supporting responsible use of the Armed Forces. Fear of John McCain "getting us into wars" was not a reason I voted for Barack Obama.
I know you were kidding around with John, Marcio, and good fun is good fun, but I just wanted to correct that misconception regarding Senator McCain.

McCain is a decent man, of course, but my respect for him fell many grades after his pick for VP and the low level campaign.
It didn't help him joking about bomb, bomb, bomb Iran... how can someone win a fight with a country that believes that in death, they will be served for 1.000 virgins in paradise...
I have to admit that my boss is making me cranky this morning, I want to bomb Toronto right now... (sorry about that Al...)

LOL! Exactly!
Besides, Obama may now be President-Elect, but Cheney, er, Bush is
STILL President, and I'm sure we have enough time between now and
January to start deploying troops to Brazil . . .
;-) +++ While Brazilian president get along well with Bush, some war general's demonstrate that they do not support Bush or US foreign policy:
what a nice couple...

While in the high military command...

Wait, the lesson learned from this election was that the GOP didn't go far enough to the right? Really?

*****
Hear, hear!
With a smarter campaign that stayed true to his core values and a not-insane VP pick like Palin, McCain could have had my vote, no problem. McCain circa 2000 versus Obama...! Hmph!

Yes because if the went far enough to the right blackd would lose their right to vote and become property once again..that could have insured their win.

I called this one in advance, and this is part of what I feared would happen with a McCain loss -- the Republican core now views McCain's loss as a failed experiment in moderation, which means that they must now "return" to their true ultra-conservative far-right roots in order to triumph once again over the liberal Democrats. That's not MY Republican party.

See, when I hear that argument, I ask this: there were Republican candidates that were available in the primary season that were more conservative than McCain. If that was what the majority of Republicans wanted, then why didn't Romney get the nomination? Or Thompson?
